Patricia Jean “Pat” McDonald

PORTLAND – A Beloved Nana “Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day.”

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia Jean McDonald, lovingly known as “Pat”, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones, at the age of 80, at the Barron Center in Portland.

Pat was born on Aug. 8, 1945, in Portland, the daughter of the late Avon and Lydia Wilcox.

Pat’s warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her. She was a source of strength, wisdom, and comfort, offering gentle guidance and endless encouragement to her family and friends throughout her life.

Pat found great joy in baking and preparing home-cooked meals, and many cherished memories were made around her table. She faced life’s challenges with grace and a quiet strength that inspired all who knew her. Her stories, sense of humor, and gentle spirit will forever live on in our hearts.

Pat is survived by her husband, Robert McDonald; her children Deb Fitzgerald (Stephen), Bobby McDonald (Lovely), Michael McDonald (Stacy), and Allie McDonald (Lisa); along with nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Pat will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, extended family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. While we mourn her loss, we take comfort in the countless treasured moments we shared and the profound impact she had on our lives.

Rest peacefully, Pat. Your love will remain with us always.

A Celebration of Life honoring Pat will be held on Saturday, March 21, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the American Legion, 17 Dunn St., Westbrook. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend and share memories as we celebrate her life and legacy.
