Robert Cronin and Antonio Venuto scored in the second period and Brad Arvanitis made 27 saves Saturday afternoon as the Maine Mariners stopped a two-game losing streak, beating the Trois-Rivières Lions 2-1 in an ECHL game at Trois-Rivières, Quebec.
Cronin’s 16th goal of the season tied the game early in the second period, and Venuto’s 16th was the winner.
The teams play again Sunday afternoon, and then Maine plays five of its final six games at home, starting Wednesday against the Worcester Ice Cats.
