Angela Duperré (Parsons) Hutchinson

MT. CHASE – Angela Duperré (Parsons) Hutchinson unexpectedly passed away on April 29, 2026, at her home in Mt. Chase. She was born on Dec. 14, 1982, in Northampton, Massachusetts, to Peter and Lucille (Duperré) Parsons. Following her graduation from Northampton High School, she attended the University of Maine in Orono, where she received a degree in English, with a concentration in business and technical writing, and an animal and veterinary sciences minor.

Over the years she worked as a newspaper reporter, a high school English teacher, and most recently worked at Cary Library in Houlton. She especially enjoyed working at the library.

On July 9, 2005, she married Michael Hutchinson and they moved to the Katahdin region, eventually settling down permanently in Mt. Chase.

Angie had many interests and hobbies, including reading and writing, and doing word puzzles. She loved nature and especially plants. She had an extensive collection of exotic plants. She also loved birds and bird watching, often travelling hours to get a glimpse of a rare bird that flew into the area.

She especially loved her pet dogs, Sparky and Sky. She also had many unusual pets, including invertebrates and amphibians.

She enjoyed music, having played a number of instruments over the years, including clarinet, oboe, percussion, bass clarinet, and bass guitar, from sixth grade, through high school and college. She met her future husband at UMaine through the various band ensembles there. Recently, she could be found playing bass guitar in the McGills Community Band, as well as in the pit orchestra for Houlton High Schools musicals.

She is survived by her husband, Michael J. Hutchinson, of Mt. Chase; her parents, Peter and Lucille Parsons, of Northampton, Massachusetts; her sister, Adrienne Parsons, of Northampton, her in-laws, Brian and Vennice Hutchinson, of Winslow; and brother in-law and wife Adam Hutchinson and Heidi Cray, of South Portland; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
