Officials are investigating a fire that damaged the historic Masonic Temple building in Bath where responding firefighters found a burned American flag.
Crews responded to the Washington Street building at roughly 10:15 a.m. Tuesday and discovered a large American flag that had been burned, the Bath Fire and Rescue Department said in a news release. The flag had been draped over the main entrance of the building.
The fire was out when crews arrived and the building sustained minor damage, according to the fire department.
The Bath fire department, along with the State Fire Marshal’s Office and Bath Police Department, are investigating the cause and time of the fire.
Bath Fire and Rescue encouraged anyone with information to call the chief’s office at 207-443-5034.
