Brooke Brunelle totaled six goals and seven assists to help carry Cheverus to an 18-10 win over Thornton Academy in a Class A girls lacrosse game Wednesday afternoon in Portland.

Ava Lewis, Sydney Brunelle and Olivia Vigue added three goals each. Sophia Tamulevich had two goals and Scotlyn Buxton scored one.

It was the final game of the regular season for Cheverus (11-3), the No. 5 team in the Varsity Maine Top 10. The Stags will are ranked fourth in Class A Heal points.

Olivia Lamey led second-ranked Thornton (11-2) with three goals. Oceanna LaMarre, Sophia Sirois and Addie Lamey each netted two goals, and Bella Jung also scored.

WESTBROOK 8, DEERING 7: Lyla Dunphe scored four goals, including the overtime winner with an assist from Ava Bolden that lifted the Blue Blazes (10-4) over the Rams (4-10) in Westbrook.

Hattie Clark added three goals and two assists for Westbrook, which led 5-3 at halftime before the Rams tied the game with two goals in the third quarter. Each team scored twice in the fourth.

Kylie LaCasse also scored and Grace Gurney made nine saves for the Blue Blazes.

Annabelle Price, Sofia Nieves and Quincey Cummings had two goals each and Wren Donohue added one for Deering.

BASEBALL

FALMOUTH 10, WESTBROOK 0: Milo Matson and Charlie Engle combined on a four-hitter with 12 strikeouts, and the Navigators (10-6) closed out their regular season with a win over the Blue Blazes (1-15) in Westbrook.

Jacoby Porter was 2 for 4 with a home run, and Cooper Bucci was 2 for 3 with two RBI and two runs scored. Harper Drosdik also drove in two runs.

Matson pitched six innings, with nine strikeouts, two walks and four hits allowed. Engle struck out all three batters he faced.

Colby Hodgkins got two of Westbrook’s four hits.

TELSTAR 5, SACOPEE VALLEY 2: Camden Johnson singled in two runs during a four-run first inning, and Telstar (13-3) went on to defeat Sacopee Valley (8-8) at Hiram.

Brennan Walker allowed one hit over the final four innings and also went 2 for 4 with two runs scored for the Rebels.

Bo Fenderson had two of Sacopee’s four hits and scored a run.

LEAVITT 7, MEDOMAK VALLEY 3: Trent Holst pitched six innings, striking out 11 as the Hornets (14-2) ended their regular season with a victory over the Panthers (6-10) in Turner.

Holst allowed three runs on three hits and four walks. He also hit a single and a double, scored once and drove home a run.

Ryder Sawyer-Brown collected three hits. Hunter Holst doubled and singled, and Randan Hutchinson tripled and scored twice.

Devin Benedix recorded two hits for Medomak Valley. Jaydiin Ruiz singled and drove in a pair of runs.

SOFTBALL

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 13, CARRABEC 6: Reese Weaver was 3 for 5 with a double, a triple, four RBI and three runs scored, and the Panthers (14-1) ended their regular season with a win over the Cobras (8-8) in Anson.

Abby Sweeney and Cami Casserly both drove in two runs. Sweeney and Jordan Nash both had two hits, and Sweeney, Isy Hinkley and Kennady Conley all scored twice.

Carrabec’s Karen Baker and Lilly Kinney both went 2 for 3. Amiya Tibbetts hit a triple.

YORK 13, FREEPORT 3: Eva Gallucci’s two-run single highlighted a six-run first inning that started the Wildcats (15-1) on their way to a five-inning mercy-rule win over the Falcons (7-9) in a regular-season finale in York.

Sarah Orso drove in three runs with two hits, Nya Avery had three hits and two RBI, and Piper Catanese and Maddie Fitzgerald both scored three runs for the No. 8 team in the Varsity Maine Top 10.

Piper Larochelle led Freeport with two hits.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 17, VALLEY 7: Hannah Webber had four hits, including a double that put the Seagulls (9-7) ahead to stay in the fourth inning of a six-inning victory against Valley (5-11) at Old Orchard Beach.

The Cavaliers led 6-5 until Old Orchard scored three in the fourth. The Seagulls added two in the fifth and ended the game with a seven-run sixth.

Webber drove in three runs and Reagan Partridge had three hits for the Seagulls, who totaled 14 hits and took advantage of seven errors and four walks.

Delia Hill, Liana Hartwell and Sierra Pinkham all got two hits for Valley.

BIDDEFORD 12, WINDHAM 5: Mariah Villandry doubled, homered and drove in five runs, and Biddeford (8-8) broke open a tie game by totaling seven runs over the final two innings to defeat the Eagles (11-5) at Windham.

The score was 5-5 before the Tigers scored three runs in the sixth and four in the seventh.

Amaya Carter drove in two runs with two hits, and Kaysie Mitchell hit a solo homer and scored three times as the Tigers collected 14 hits.

Oakley McLeod hit a two-run homer and Yani Kostopoulos added a solo homer for Windham.

MEDOMAK VALLEY 7, LEAVITT 6: Arianna Sproul and Kendall Simmons provided the offense for the Panthers (14-2) in a win over the Hornets (10-6) in Turner.

Sproul homered, doubled and drove in four runs. Simmons hit a double and recorded three RBI.

Jennika Schumann and Rheanne Simmons also had doubles for Medomak.

Leavitt was down 7-0 before scoring two runs in the sixth and four in the seventh. The Hornets had the potential tying run at third base when the game ended.

Hailey Cyr and Elizabeth Kowalski each had two RBI for Leavitt. Charlee Pelletier and Reese Bilodeau both drove in a run.
