A judge on Tuesday approved the sale of Sandy Pines Campground in Kennebunkport.

Streamside Parks LLC, a company that does business in Tennessee and Wyoming and owns parks nationwide, is in line to buy the campground for $13.5 million.

The purchase, which comes a few months after the park first went up for sale, can proceed now that District of Maine bankruptcy Judge Michael Fagone has given it the green light.

“This is a meaningful acquisition for our team, as many of us have admired and followed this particular property for the last few years,” Streamside Parks Chief Growth Officer Jen Milam said in a written statement Tuesday evening. “We look forward to becoming part of the Kennebunkport story, and plan to operate this property in a way that is deeply local in character, honoring both the history of the property and its place in the community.”

Stefan Keenan, real estate division manager for Keenan Auction Company, said Streamside has put down a deposit that allows it a little more than a month to close the sale. If things go according to plan, Keenan said, the sale will be completed in midsummer.

Streamside Parks’ expected acquisition of Sandy Pines comes after the campground’s current owner, Atlantic Hospitality, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in February.

The campground had originally been scheduled for a foreclosure auction in March before a postponement prompted by Atlantic Hospitality’s bankruptcy proceedings.

The $13.5 million sale includes the entirety of the campground, which has more than $16 million in total assets and over $20 million in liabilities, according to court documents.

The sale is being handled by Keenan Auction Company in coordination with commercial real estate groups Hunneman and CBRE.

Streamside Parks owns numerous RV parks and campgrounds across the United States, including locations in Arizona, Montana and Pennsylvania.

Sandy Pines is a 46.25-acre property consisting of 268 campsites, a heated saltwater pool and several different lodging options. The campground is currently open for the 2026 season.
