Cape Elizabeth singer-songwriter Tucker Pillsbury, who records and performs under the name Role Model, will play Thompson’s Point in Portland on Aug 7. It will be his first time performing in his home state.

The date coincides with the release of his new album “Chuck Timely & The Hourglass.”

The Maine concert is the first in his upcoming 27-date tour, which concludes its North American leg on Oct. 18 at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, California.

The tour continues with dates across Europe and the United Kingdom in 2027.

The first single from the new album, “High Hopes 3000,” is out now.

Artist presale tickets for the Thompson’s Point show go on sale Thursday at 10 a.m., followed by the State Theatre Presents presale at noon. General tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at heyrolemodel.com/tour. Ticket buyers should sign up for the State Theatre mailing list at statetheatreportland.com to get a presale code. A limited number of tickets will also be available at the State Theatre box office at 609 Congress St., Portland, Friday at 10 a.m.

Role Model’s debut “RX” album was released in 2022. The deluxe edition of the follow-up “Kansas Anymore” features the hit single “Sally, When the Wine Runs Out.” Last year, Pillsbury performed the song on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” and “Saturday Night Live.”

Pillsbury is making his debut acting role in the Netflix film “Good Sex,” directed by Lena Dunham and featuring Natalie Portman, Mark Ruffalo, Tramell Tillman, Rashida Jones and Meg Ryan. It’s set to be released this year.

Pillsbury graduated from Cape Elizabeth High School in 2014. He moved to Los Angeles several years ago to pursue a music career.
