Portland residents invited to weigh in on housing issues

A City Council committee is looking for ideas and concerns as it develops recommendations.

The Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce hosts a discussion of the housing market, and it draws more than 400 people.

Some residents would welcome but others may object to the five-story building, which would be large for the town center.

Officials from the city and five surrounding communities meet to discuss strategies for meeting the region’s increasing demand.
