EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The New York Giants have placed cornerback Aaron Ross on injured reserve and added two other defensive backs as they prepare for Sunday’s matchup with Philadelphia.

Safety Will Hill, who was suspended the first four games of this season for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy, was added to the active roster. The Giants also signed cornerback Charles James from their practice squad.

Ross injured his back last week in a loss to Kansas City.

JETS: Running back Mike Goodson was activated after serving a four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy.

JAGUARS: Receiver Justin Blackmon was activated from the reserve/suspended list and guard Jacques McClendon was waived.

Blackmon had 64 receptions for 865 yards last season and averaged 13.5 yards a catch.

The Jaguars (0-4) have been banged up all season at receiver, with Stephen Burton (concussion) and Mike Brown (back) missing multiple games. Tight end Marcedes Lewis (calf) has missed most of the season, too.

BILLS: Free-agent quarterback Dennis Dixon, a former Steeler, will have a workout with Buffalo, which lost rookie starter EJ Manuel for several weeks to a knee injury.

The Bills now have only one healthy quarterback on their roster, rookie Jeff Tuel.

NFL.com also reported that Pat White, a former Washington and Miami quarterback, worked out for the Bills on Saturday.
