Library

From now through June 30 you can see Joy Barnes’ watercolor and oil paintings on display at the Windham Public Library. The subjects in this exhibit include Maine lighthouses, scenic views of Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, along with paintings of Maine’s hydrangeas. Joy has a master’s degree in art education and has taught art in public schools for over 20 years.

Barnes has lead workshops, exhibited in one-man shows, and in art festivals. Joy teaches Chinese painting, pastel painting, watercolors, and drawing through Windham Adult Education. Her paintings are displayed in the Little Sebago Gallery in Windham, the 302 Gallery in Bridgton, and in the Bach & Company Gallery in Pennsylvania. Sales from the library exhibit will be made by contacting the artists by phone (number available at the library). The Windham Public Library is located at 217 Windham Center Road, and is open 9:30-5 on T, TH, F, SAT, and 9:30-8 on M, W.

Alumni

Windham High School Alumni Association, the oldest organization in town, will hold the annual banquet at Windham Middle School cafeteria, Saturday, May 14. Cost of each roast pork dinner is $10. Ed and Polly Varney had a birthday party for their daughter, Tracey Chambers, on March 27th. It was a family party and since it was also Easter Sunday they also enjoyed a great dinner with cake and ice cream. Their son, Tom, also came down.

Easter Dinner

Tudy Haskell entertained family members for an Easter dinner. Those enjoying the day were Clayton, Kathy and Harriet Haskell; Michael and Tammy Haskell; Elsie Haskell and “Holly” the dog.

Two ladies who will celebrate their birthdays in April are Joan Esty and Yvonne Gallagher. Happy Birthday to both.

Bob and Mary Bouchard, Falmouth Road, had a small gathering for Easter dinner. Joining them were Foster and Rose Burke and Kevin, Melissa and Cassidy Bailey.

Family Easter

Joan and Russell Hall enjoyed Easter dinner at their home with the following family members: Stan and Mary Hall, Stacey, Billy, Ryan and Darcey Webster, Dolly Ingalls and Barry, Kim and Logan Babb.

Anniversary

Win and Barbara Strout, Windham Center Road, celebrated their anniversary April 7th. They will celebrate with family at a later date.

Family Dinner

David and Joan Tobin entertained family members for Easter dinner. Joining them were Colleen and Leo Tinkham of Connecticut; Bridget, David, Hannah and Maura Gallagher of Windham; Eddie Hawkes, Portland; Don Tinkham and Joan of Scarborough and Mark Tinkham of Portland.
