Space is still available for educators to sign up for Forests of Maine Teachers’ Tours. Tours based at Nicatous Lodge on Nicatous Lake, July 19-22, and Sugarloaf Resort in the Western Mountains, August 2-5 have openings but are filling fast. The tour to Munsungan Lake is filled.

Each tour starts with a Project Learning Tree workshop and includes visits to timber harvests, a paper mill or other wood products manufacturers and natural resource areas such as forest reserves.

Teachers will receive CEUs and numerous forest activity materials, including the CD-ROM “Maine Forests Forever Green.”

There is a $50 registration fee; all other costs are complimentary. For further information or registration materials call Martha at (207) 621, 9872, email her at mtf@gwi.net or go to www.mainetreefoundation.org. This eighth year of Teachers’ Tours is sponsored by the Maine TREE Foundation with the support of the Maine Forest Service and private mill and landowners.
