Casco
Sebago Lake State Park
A very long beach that is even longer when the water level on the lake goes down. Generally the water level doesn’t recede until late summer. This year, the water level is down in June. There is a lot of parking, a concession stand, grills, flush toilets, foot showers and changing rooms. The beach is handicapped accessible. Season passes are available. The charge for a day pass is $3 for adults and 50 cents for children. Pass prices will be going up as of July 1, 2003. For more information, call 693-6231.
There are two beaches (Naples Beach and Witches Cove) in camping area of the park. These beaches are not available for day use, however. For information about camping, call 693-6231.
Raymond
Tassel Top Beach
Located across from the Raymond Shopping Center on Route 302, Tassel Top Beach is a state-owned and town-operated beach on Sebago Lake. You can buy a vehicle pass for the season for $40, (the same family can buy a pass for a second car for $5). Day passes are priced as follows: ages 12 and over $2.50; ages 5-11 50 cents; under 5 is free. Seniors (65 and over) $1. All passes may be purchased at the beach. Entrance is half-price after 5 pm. The beach has lots of parking, a snack shack and a nature trail. It’s opened weekends until June 16, when it opens daily. The beach closes at 8 p.m.
Raymond Beach
This Sebago Lake beach is two miles down the road from Tassel Top Beach. This nice beach is very small, and most people come here to use the public boat launch located next to the beach. The parking is very limited and fills up quickly on a first-come, first-serve basis. There is no charge for beach access.
Crescent Beach
Crescent Beach is a very small sandy beach on Crescent Lake in Raymond. The beach is off of Route 85. It’s on the right hand side, if you’re heading toward Casco on 85. There is very limited parking and no charge for access.
Sebago
Nason’s Beach
Family-owned Nason’s Beach and Campground is on the west shore of Sebago Lake on Route 114 in the town of Sebago. The sandy beach is available for day use. The charge is $6 per car on weekdays and $8 on the weekend. There is plenty of parking. A general store, Gemmes, which carries picnic and camping supplies, is close by. There are a few restrictions: pets, jet skis, and campfires are not permitted. Call 787-2345 for more information.
Standish
Kiwanis Beach on Watchic Lake in Standish is located off of Rte 25. Look for the big sign, not far from the junction of routes 113 and 25. The sandy beach has picnic tables, some shady areas, and a snack bar. There is a minimal fee for access that can be paid at the gate. For more information, call 642-2875.
Windham
Dundee Park is on the Presumpscot River off of River Road in Windham. Passes may be purchased at the gate. For residents: passes are 50-cents for ages 2-12; $2 for an adult. For non-residents: $3 for adults; $1 for ages 2-12; Seniors, resident and non-resident, pay $1. Season passes are also available. For more information check Windhamweb.com or call 892-1905.
