Principal Sheila Jepson welcomed representatives from the Red Sox, the Sea Dogs, Sports Done Right, and the Mitchell Institute to Bonny Eagle High School in Standish last Friday.

The Mitchell Institute arranged for a visit of the Red Sox World Series Trophy to Bonny Eagle High School. A representative from the Mitchell Institute spoke about Red Sox/Sea Dogs connections to Maine. The principal speaker that day was Colleen Quint from the Mitchell Institute. Her message was about believing in yourself and your dreams and doing whatever you do the “right” way.

Quint told the students that taking the same passion they have for their sports or their music or whatever it might be and applying it to school, and putting college in their plans was the key to success. She closed with a quote from Sen. Mitchell who said that everyone should have a fair chance to succeed – to go as far and as high as your talent and willingness to work will take you.

Also from the Mitchell Institute was Bonny Lewis who graduated from BEHS, class of 1964. Duke Albanese, former commissioner of education and part of the Sports Done Right program, was also in attendance.
