“An Evening with Purpose” is being presented on Saturday, August 20, 2005 at South Portland’s Mill Creek Park near the pavilion.
The free event runs from 6 PM to 7:30 PM.
It will feature contemporary Christian music by an ensemble of four women singers doing close four part harmony, with many of the songs being “Point of Grace” songs.
There will be a short Christian skit and an old-fashioned style short gospel message given by Justin Sweeney.
There will be limited copies of a pamphlet on “The Purpose Driven Life” by famous best selling author, Rick Warren.
Afterwards, attendees will be treated to homemade old- fashioned strawberry shortcake for a summer evening treat in the city park.
Many of the talent seen in the widely-acclaimed Christmas Dramas produced the last two Decembers by the South Portland Church of the Nazarene will be seen again in this summer outreach event.
The featured singers are Nicole Kuehner, Deemy Burgess, Katie Sweeney and Krista Sirois. The ages of the four women varies from 18 to 27.
People are invited to bring blankets, lawn chairs and picnics.
For more information, contact Annie Libby at 883-0471 or the church’s office at 767-2127.
