The filing deadline for nomination papers for town elections ended on Wednesday and there will be contested elections for the Board of Education, but not for the Town Council or Scarborough Sanitary District.
For Town Council, incumbents Jeffrey Messer, Shawn Babine and Sylvia Most have returned their papers for three open seats.
For the school board, incumbent Chris Brownsey, Grace Scarano, Michelle Hallett and Colleen Staszko will run for two three-year terms. Annalee Rosenblatt and former board member Jacquelyn Perry will run for the one-year term.
For the sanitary district, incumbents James Pandiscio, Charles Andreson and John Tarbell will run for reelection.
William Jipson, former Town Councilor Ronald Ahlquist and Erica Snow had taken out papers for Town Council, but did not return them.
Donna Pierce had taken out papers for a school board seat but did not return them.
