On Nov. 15, Drs. Street and Fitzgibbons from Anxiety Solutions in Raymond facilitated a staff development program for Windham Adult Education instructors. The program was designed to help educators working with adult learners who are trying to build skills while dealing with issues such as anxiety, depression and related mental disorders.

Anxiety Solutions is a new business in Raymond, but brings experts with extensive training and experience to the Lakes Region. Since one in every four people will suffer from an anxiety disorder at some time in their lives, it is not uncommon for individuals to need assistance to improve their experiences at home, work or school.

Research shows that the cost to employers for anxiety-related loss of productivity and absenteeism is more than $4 billion per year. With mental disorders generating such an economic impact and toll on communities, instructors at Windham Adult Education took a proactive approach to seek out experts for strategies to use with individuals and businesses in the area.
