Jan. 7, 8: Auditions for Ragtime at Lyric Music Theater in South Portland. Ages 8 through adult can audition Jan. 7 from 2-5 p.m. and Jan. 8 from 6 to 9 p.m.

Jan. 7: Bean Supper at Steep Falls Public Library, 4:30-6 p.m. Two kinds of beans, two kinds of hot dogs, American Chop Suey, mac & cheese, veg. soup, lots of salads and much, much more. $6 adults, $3 kids.

Jan. 8: Knights of Columbus Pancake Breakfast at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church Hall, 8:30-9:30 a.m. Menu includes Pancakes, Sausage, Orange Juice and Coffee. $3 adults and $2 children, 12 and under.

Jan. 9: American Red Cross blood drive at Casco Alliance Church at 450 Roosevelt Trail from 2 to 7 p.m.

Jan. 11: The Southern Maine Volkssport Association regular meeting, to be held at 7 p.m. in the General Assembly Room of Walker Memorial Library located at 800 Main Street, Westbrook, ME. The meeting is open to all.

Jan. 12: Henry Kramer, Piano, performs a “Noonday Concert” at 12:15 p.m. at First Parish Church, 425 Congress St. in Portland. Free.

Jan 14: Fund-raising spaghetti dinner at the Steep Falls Fire Barn to support Citizens for Responsible Development in Standish. 5-7 p.m. Salad and pie. $6 adults, $3 children.
