Doug Endrizzi, a senior at Scarborough High School, has been selected to receive the 2006 Principal’s Award.

Scarborough High School Principal Andrew Dolloff announced the selection of Endrizzi Tuesday. The award, sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic achievement and citizenship.

“Doug is an outstanding young man who exemplifies all that we look for in our students,” Dolloff said. “He is a leader in the classroom, a catalyst for community service projects, and an outstanding performer in the athletic arena.”

Doug, along with Dolloff and other award winners and their principals, will attend an Honors Luncheon at the Bangor Civic Center on Saturday, April 8, at 1 p.m.

The Honors Luncheon will recognize these outstanding students with the presentation of an individual plaque and the awarding of five $1,000 scholarships in the names of Horace O. McGowan and Richard W. Tyler, both former principals and executive directors of the Maine Principals’ Association.

The Principal’s Award is presented in more than 140 Maine public and private high schools by member principals of the association, the professional association that represents Maine’s school administrators.
