Scarborough Middle School seventh-grade students got some lessons on safety from police and firefighters during the school’s fifth annual Safety Day.

During the day students spent a period visiting booths hosted by police officers, firefighters, dentists, and chiropractors to learn about safety techniques.

Students are required to have a paper stamped by each booth they visit and then have their parents sign the paper. The idea behind the parental signatures is so the students and parents can discuss the safety lessons the kids learned during the program.

“Our goal is to educate the seventh-graders and involve their families in this important information,” said Tom Griffin, who along with Denise Lockman organized the event.
