The Scarborough High School Academic Decathlon Team is presenting “An Evening with the Governor” on Saturday, April 15.
Proceeds from the dinner will help pay for the team’s trip to San Antonio, Texas, where members will represent the state of Maine in the 2006 United States Academic Decathon Nationals April 26 through April 29.
Gov. John Baldacci will attend the dinner, which will feature specialties from more than 20 local restaurants, including American, Chinese, Italian and Thai food.
The dinner will start at 4:30 p.m. with a meet and mingle with the governor, followed by a buffet dinner and 50/50 raffle. Tickets for the event cost $15 and are available at Community Services at Scarborough Town Hall.

The Scarborough Academic Decathlon team will head to San Antonio for the United States Athletic Decathlon competition April 26 through April 29. The team will need to raise more than $12,000 in the coming weeks for the trip.
