A young man, possibly in his late teens, robbed the Dunkin’ Donuts on Route 1 in Scarborough at about 7:30 p.m. Monday, leaving with a small amount of cash.

Police say the white man, who was wearing dark baggy jeans and a black sweatshirt under a black leather coat and some type of cloth or clothing over his face, walked into the store and ordered the clerk to “give me your money” and repeated the statement when the clerk did not move.

The clerk told the thief that he “should think about what you are doing” and the robber said, “Give me your cash dude and don’t call the police,” according to police.

After stealing the money, the man fled on foot heading north on Rt. 1. A K-9 search of the areas was performed and the incident remains under investigation.

No weapon was used during the crime.

The man is described at being thin and standing about 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall. Anyone with information is asked to call the Scarborough Police Department at 883-6361.
