Through the grapevine

On April 10, at 4:00 p.m. police met with an Oakhurst area man who said he had heard through a friend that somebody had threatened him. A disgruntled business associate, angered that a real estate deal between the two men toppled, allegedly told an acquaintance of both men that he was planning on harming the man.

Harassing calls

On April 12, at about 8:20 a.m. police met with a resident of the Fowler Road area regarding harassing phone calls.

Angry drunk

On April 15, police responded to a fight at a residence on Ocean House Road. A man passed out at a party. When his friends woke him, he acted aggressively, so they restrained him. Nobody was injured, but the man was taken to the hospital to ensure his safety, said police.

False Accusations

On April 12, at about 9 p.m., police received a call from a man that said his friend was being physically abused by her mate. When police contacted the woman, she said, though she and her mate argue a lot, he has never hit her. Police say the man may have had ulterior motives for making a false accusation.

Lost skis

On April 16, police found a pair of titanium skis with binders at Kettle Cove. The skis have been returned to the police department for safekeeping.

Safety first

On April 16, police picked up a firearm from an Ocean House Road resident. The resident no longer wanted it in the house. Police will keep it at the station.

Summonses

April 14

Wendy Neal, 47, of 7 Longfellow Drive, was issued a summons on Route 77 for speeding 44 in a 35 mph zone.

David Brunt, 46, of 139 South Richland, South Portland, was issued a summons on Shore Road for speeding 44 in a 30 mph zone.

Arrests

On April 12, Brian S. Young, 38, of 165 Fowler Road, was arrested on Ocean House Road and charged with operating under the influence.

Fire and Rescue

The Cape Elizabeth Rescue responded to 16 calls between April 11 and 15. Twelve patients were transported to Maine Medical Center, two to Mercy Hospital and two required no transport.

The Cape Elizabeth Fire Department responded to smoke coming from a home in South Portland at 5:29 a.m. on April 12; an oven fire on Channel View Road at 11:35 a.m. on April 13; an investigation on Sawyer Road at 6:57 p.m. on April 13; an alarm activation on Gladys Road at 11:17 a.m. on April 14; assistance on Trundy Road at 10:33 a.m. on April 15; an odor investigation at Delano Park at 12:23 a.m. on April 16.
