Argumentative

On May 15, a juvenile girl called police and reported a dispute between herself and her mother. Police mediated what they said was only an argument. They suggested counseling for the family. No action was taken against either mother or daughter.

Trashy

On May 17 at 5:15 p.m. an Ocean House Road resident reported that his neighbor’s contractor dumped concrete waste materials in his backyard without permission. Police contacted the contractor who agreed to remove the waste.

On May 19 at 4:30 p.m. a Mitchell Road resident brought a dead bat to the police station. Earlier that day, the resident found the bat unable to fly on their lawn. The resident, who suspected the bat might have rabies killed it and brought it to the police station for testing. Police told the resident the state only tests animals for rabies when they’ve had contact with people or pets.

Burgled

On May 18 at 6:35 a.m. a business owner from the Ocean House Road area reported a burglary. The back door of the business was unlocked when they arrived and an undisclosed amount of money was missing from the store. Police said there were no signs of forced entry.

Bad driving

On May 20, an off-duty state trooper who resides in Cape followed a vehicle driving erratically on Scott Dyer Road to the dump, where he spoke with the driver. The trooper will file the necessary legal paperwork with the courts.

Lost and found at the Cape Police Department

The following items are being held at the Cape Police Department:

– Set of four keys with a keyless remote attached to a bear shaped key ring, found Dec. 8, 2005 on the jogging path off Rockcrest Drive.

– Silver ring with a large clear stone, found Dec. 14, 2005 at the entrance to Fort Williams.

– Tinted bifocal eyeglasses in case, found March 24 on Shore Road at Delano Park Entrance number two.

– Stainless steel woman’s watch with metal link style band, found April 22 on the softball field at Fort Williams.

– Eyeglasses with plastic frames in colorful cloth case and two tennis rackets with a blue case, found April 28.

Arrests

On May 21 Jonathan Moschetti, 18, of 17 Oakwood Road was arrested at Cape Elizabeth High School and charged with carrying a concealed weapon. Moschetti was carrying brass knuckles.

Summonses

On May 16, Caroline Etnier, 18, of 10 Old Fort Road was issued a summons on Sawyer Road for failure to produce license.

On May 19, a male, 16, was issued a summons on Bowery Beach Road for operating without a license.

On May 19, Lisa Silverman-Gent, 42, of 1026 Sawyer Road was issued a summons on Scott Dyer Road for speeding 35 in a 25 mph zone.

On May 19, Evan Mitchell, 57, of 34 Stone Drive, was issued a summons on Scott Dyer Road for speeding 41 in a 25 mph zone.

On May 19, Susan Legge, 47, of 20 Farms Edge Road, was issued a summons on Sawyer Road for speeding 54 in a 30 mph zone.

On May 20, Gary Piscopo, 43, of 10 Murray Drive, was issued a summons on Route 77 for failure to produce license.

On May 21, Jonathan Moschetti, 18, of 17 Oakwood Road was issued a summons at Cape Elizabeth High School for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of liquor by a minor.

Fire and Rescue

The Cape Rescue responded to seven calls between May 16 and May 22. Four patients were transported to Maine Medical Center, two were transported to Mercy Hospital and one call required no transport.

The Cape Fire Department responded to a water problem on Broad Cove Road at 11:43 a.m. on May 16; a fire alarm on Ocean House Road at 11:53 a.m. on May 16; a fire alarm at Delano Park at 7:44 p.m. on May 16; a non-permitted burn on Erie Road at 6:20 p.m. on May 17; a carbon monoxide investigation on Trundy Road at 9:39 a.m. on May 18; wires down on Eastfield at 6:57 p.m. on May 20; a car accident on Spurwink Avenue at 2:28 p.m. on May 21; a fire alarm on Sea View Avenue at 11:05 a.m. on May 22.
