Eric Johnson will be displaying his artwork at the Thomas Memorial Library throughout the month of June.

Johnson is an 18-year-old high school senior who has autism. He is presenting the art show as part of his senior transition project.

Johnson uses his art to express what and how he sees things and people around him. His artwork consists of watercolor, digital and pastels depicting animals, portraits, holiday themes and landscapes. He has a talent for understanding color schemes and using subtle details in his art.

Various pieces of Johnson’s artwork are currently displayed on greeting cards that he offered at various craft shows during the holiday season and at the high school. After high school, he hopes to continue in art and explore what opportunities are available to him.

Johnson will be present at a reception featuring his artwork at Thomas Memorial Library on Friday, June 2, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The reception is open to the public.
