Jason York was inducted into the Maine Amateur Wrestling Alliance Hall of Fame Saturday.
Honored in a ceremony at the Hyde School in Bath, York joined former teammate Brian Brunk and coach Ted Reese as members of the Hall.
York was twice named all state. In 1992 he was Class A state champion in the 135-pound weight division; the following year he won at 140 pounds.
A 1993 graduate from Bonny Eagle High School, he was member of state champion teams his freshman and senior years. The Scots were runners-up his sophomore and junior seasons.
York went on to wrestle at Boston University, serving as captain twice. Since then he has served as coach at both Caribou High School and the University of Southern Maine. He now resides in Pennsylvania.
In 2002 York was inducted into the Bonny Eagle Athletic Hall of Fame. In high school he also a participated in soccer and outdoor track.
