Birthday Party

There was a birthday party held for Beulah Libby Mason, Varney Mill Road, August 13. She celebrated her 83rd birthday. The following people stopped by to congratulate her: Richard and Maxine Libby with grandchildren Brooke, Savannah and Tyler, Susan Gauthier, Darlene Ingersoll, Jack Libby, Keith Oliver, Jessica Libby, Leslie Libby, Kyle Libby, Tonya and Allen Dube and family, George W. Libby, Elsie Haskell, Wendy Libby-Ingersoll, Dayle Gray, Ashley Gray, Wayne Baird, Edith Arey with daughter Nancy, Ralph Libby Jr. and family, Sharon Snow, Karen Snow, Kevin Snow, Rita Carey, Bill and Cathy Crandell, Lori and Greg Michaud and John Libby. Everyone enjoyed the great food!

Pet Food

Barbara Muir will hold another pet food donation day August 19 at the Kennel Shop in the Shaw’s Plaza. For more information contact Barbara Muir at 892-6096. This food goes to the Windham Food Pantry and helps some of our citizens feed their pets.

Wedding

Josie Morrell and her granddaughter, Kimberly Morrell, recently atttended Josie’s grandniece’s wedding. Judith Ellen Gordon was married to Stephen James Mandile in the North Street Memorial Chapel in Gorham August 5. The reception was held at Country Cross Roads in Sandish.

Visits

Bill and Sue Hager, Montgomery Road, recently spent a week in Winter Harbor. They visited with her brother, Roger Barto, and his wife Pearl. They went to the Winter Harbor Lobster Festival and saw the boat races, etc. Rollin Barto also visited for part of the week.

Reunion

The Windham High School Class of 1956 held their 50th reunion August 5 at the Salmon Falls Country Club. There were 63 people there with 38 of them being classmates. Door prizes were awarded; there was a clock made by Freddie Sawyer and won by Louise Morrell Knapp and a throw made by Mertie Porter and won by Judy Dobson Woods. Each classmate had signed it so there was a square for each one of them. Some of them played golf in the morning and then they enjoyed the buffet and the 50s music played by Warren Fournier in the evening. Classmates came from as far away as Idaho, Florida, California, Washington State and Maryland.

Company

Dorothy Brooks, Varney Mill Road, recently had a visit from her sister, Florence Maines, of Warwick, Rhode Island. She stayed with Dorothy for a few days then went to visit with anoher sister, Issie Koceika, for a week in North Sebago.
