Westbrook and Windham rescue workers lift Loretta Fiero, of Standish, into an ambulance after her Dodge Durango collided with two trucks driving southbound along River Road on Friday morning, Aug. 25.
According to police, Fiero, driving northbound, smashed sides with Nicole Adams, of Windham, after crossing the centerline near the Westbrook/Windham line. The mirror snapped off Adam’s truck and hit her in the head. After the side collision, Fiero swerved away and hit another Chevy pick-up truck driven by Mary Golder, also from Windham.
The damaged cars came to stop on either side of the road and Adams climbed out of her truck through the window and helped her young son out.
Windham Fire/Rescue and Police departments responded to the accident along with Westbrook Rescue.
Fiero remained in her vehicle injured until rescue workers arrived and transported her by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Portland.
