Back when comic books were 10 cents, a lot of youngsters in the East Windham area stopped in at Graffam’s Store on the Falmouth Road to get their reading material. Without covers, comic books were just a nickel. This photo is the only one the Historical Society has of Graffam’s and the woman in it is unidentified. If anyone has a picture of the store or knows who this person is, the Society would like to know. Graffam’s store was a landmark in the area and many people can recall the neighborhood store that sold penny candy, Italian sandwiches and cover-less comic books!
