A dozen years ago in 1994, the late Dr. Sidney Branson gave this picture to the historical society in Windham. He used to live in this Main Street house. The picture had been found at a sale and identified the place as Ellamoor House. Doc said he had heard it referred to as the Lary House, Soule House and Dow House. Built sometime after 1847 by a member of the Lary family, the house still stands today. Where, though, did the name Ellamoor House ever originate?
