Jim Soule is a proven leader who will serve South Portland well as a member of city council.
He has been on the council in the past and was elected by his peers as mayor during both of his terms in office. He is a progressive leader who has a long history of supporting school system funding, and has a strong college education that provides him with a true understanding of government issues. He supports the improvement of public safety in South Portland, he has goals set for his first 100 days in office, and he has the economic and political know-how to get work done in this city.
The most admirable qualities I find in Jim are his straightforwardness and how approachable he is. He is a truly open person, open to viewpoints and opinions that reflect the needs of his constituents. I suggest if you are not familiar with Jim’s platform or his strengths as a leader, you need to connect with him so you can make an informed decision before you vote on Election Day. He truly is someone who can balance out a city council that has had quite a bit of imbalance in the past few years. I have seen this first hand in city council workshops I have attended. This conflict needs to end and the election of Jim to the District 3 position will help resolve these negative issues.
I am a Democrat and I have already voted for Jim via absentee ballot for this election. It does not matter to me what political party a person belongs to when they have the skills and ability to lead. Jim has both the skills and the personality we need in this city to get the work done that we need to help our city be safer and productive.
Please be an informed voter next week and get information from Jim about his platform and his abilities. You can call him on his cell phone at 409-6231 or at home 767-1343. He would be happy to talk with you about your point of view. I am sure you will be pleased with your conversation with him.
