Birthday Party

There was a surprise 80th birthday party recently held for Betty Wyman. Her actual birthday is Nov. 15. Her daughter, Susan Kimball Lombard, surprised her with a luncheon at DiMillos Restaurant in Portland. Some of her close friends, Marilyn Worrey, Sylvia Joyce, Ramona Moore, Theresa Hodgdon, Charlotte Wyman and her niece, Nancy Saunders, attended the luncheon to help her celebrate. The party was held before Betty and her husand Ira left for St. Cloud, Fla. for the winter.

Thanksgiving

Trudy Haskell entertained her family for Thanksgiving dinner. Those attending were: Elsie Haskell, Clayton and Kathy Haskell, Harriet Haskell and her fiance, Terry Thoms, and Michael and Tammy Haskell.

Church Fair

On Dec. 2 there will be an old fashioned Christmas Fair at the North Windham Union Church. There will be crafts, books, jewelry, ornaments, a children’s shopping room, baked goods and an extensive silent aucton. Lunch will also be available. The hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Meeting

The Windham Historical Society meets Nov. 27 at 7 p.m. at the Society. There will be a brief program on “My Favorite Things” presented by Kay Soldier, curator. This will include some unique and very special items the society has accumulated through the years. There is no charge and the public is invited. Refreshments will be served.

Library

Currently on display at the Windham Public Library are works by local artist Donna Brelli. The pieces, which cover a variety of topics from the war in Iraq to still-lifes of fruit, will be on display through Jan. 31. The library hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday. (9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday after Labor Day).

Family Dinner

Bob and Mary Bouchard, of Falmouth Road, entertained family for Thanksgiving. Joining them were their daughter Melissa Bailey and her husband Kevin with their daughter, Cassidy, of Falmouth Road, and Foster and Rose Burke of William Knight Road.

Happy Birthday

Dolly Ingalls celebrated her 97th birthday Nov. 12. Her daughter, Joan Hall, and her husband, Russell, took her to Julien’s Restaurant in Gray for dinner. Also joining them were Stacey and Bill Webster, Ryan Webster, Darcey Webster, Kim and Barry Babb and Logan Babb. After dinner they went back to the Hall’s for dessert and gifts.
