The Naples Public Library will once again offer free one-on-one help sessions for any senior citizens needing to enroll in the new Medicare D Prescription Drug Program or make any changes to the plan they currently have.

Open enrollment for Medicare D began on Nov. 15 and will end on Dec. 31. This is the time for seniors to review their current coverage and ensure that it will continue to meet their needs in 2007. Many policies will implement changes after the first of the year, and it is very important that seniors make informed decisions.

The Southern Maine Area Agency on Aging advises seniors to ask themselves the following questions when evaluating their current Medicare D plan: Will the plan have a different premium or deductible in 2007? Will the list of prescription drugs covered by the plan change in 2007? Are you pleased with the level of customer service you are currently receiving? If you are concerned or have questions about any of these issues please make it a point to contact the library and take advantage of this great service.

Trained volunteers will be available at the library for free one-on-one help sessions by appointment. To make an appointment please contact the library at 693-6841 during our regular hours: Tuesday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
