The Cape Elizabeth girls lacrosse team earned an 11-6 win over visiting Gorham on Saturday thanks in part to four goals from Jill Smith. Cape netminder Meghan Mowles also played well making 15 saves to help preserve the victory.
Cape bounced back from an 8-6 defeat at Falmouth on Thursday, April 26.
The Capers were scheduled to host Yarmouth on Wednesday, May 2.
Scarborough falls at Greely
The Red Storm dropped to 1-1 after Saturday’s 8-4 loss at Greely. Scarborough’s goal scorers included Lindsay Hagerman, Britney Kane, Katie Snyder, and Natalie Kahoon.
Scarborough opened their season with a convincing 12-1 win over Portland on Thursday, April 26. Natalie Cahoon and Marisa Hebert paced the Red Storm attack with three goals apiece and Lindsay Hagerman chipped in with a pair of scores as well.
The defending Class A state champions host Marshwood on Friday afternoon.
