The first full week of Summer Reading Program fun at the Scarborough Public Library includes three age-appropriate events for kids interested in “getting a clue” about paranormal sightings, local weather patterns and the remarkable skills of search and rescue dogs.

On Tuesday at 6 p.m., a program for Grades 6 and up will explore paranormal phenomena in Maine as volunteers from Central Maine Paranormal Investigations share the scientific data they have collected confirming cases of paranormal activity in Maine.

Kids in Grades K-6 are invited to create a library weather station on Wednesday at 4 p.m. The station will be used throughout the summer program to predict and track weather patterns. Kids will help make the station, and then visit again with their families to find out if they should put on their galoshes or wear extra sunscreen

The final program of the week is on Thursday, June 28, at 10:30 a.m., for children in Grades K-5. Nancy Troubh, a long-time volunteer with Maine Search and Rescue Dogs, will bring one of her seasoned dogs and a pup in training to demonstrate the iskills these dogs use to uncover clues in search of missing persons.
