Kenne Ann Dibner of Scarborough has been awarded the prestigious Erickson Research Fellowship in addition to being accepted into the doctoral program in education policy at Michigan State University.

The fellowship is awarded annually to an incoming doctoral student who shows exceptional promise. It is a four-year award that is over and above full scholarship for tuition, and includes all scholastic expenses, a research assistantship and an annual, unrestricted cash stipend.

The daughter of Charles and Eddy Ann Dibner, she is a 2001 graduate of Scarborough High School and a 2005 cum laude graduate of Skidmore College in Saratoga, N.Y. While at Skidmore, she was elected to USA Today’s All-USA College Academic Team-2005, and studied abroad at the American University in Cairo, Egypt.

She has been employed for the past two years as a director of

after-school programs in Brooklyn by the YMCA of Greater New York.
