The Scarborough Public Library will be closed for three weeks to complete deferred interior maintenance, including replacement of the carpeting. The library will close at 8 p.m. on Monday and reopen at 10 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 6. I
In addition to the repairs, the library will also reconfigure service areas and upgrade network services, wireless access and security.
Residents are encouraged to use the Portland Public Library during the closure. Proof of residence is needed to obtain a library card. The Elm Street Parking Garage, located in the area of the Portland Public Library, also offers free parking for the first half-hour.
The Scarborough Public Library’s Web site, www.library.scarborough.me.us, will provide updates on services and programs during the closure.
