The photo on the left is looking down Brackett Street toward Main Street from the vicinity of the old railroad rracks. (In the early 1970s, the tracks were removed and the old railroad bed became Wayside Drive.) During urban renewal these buildings, including the Westbrook Congregational Church, on the corner of Brackett and Main streets, were demolished. Brackett Street between Main Street and Wayside Drive was closed off. Westbrook Commons now occupies the old portion of Brackett Street.
