A Standish man was arrested last week for attempting to photograph children while they were performing “sexually explicit conduct,” according to Capt. Don Goulet of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

James Linscott, 38, of 694 Pequawket Trail is being held on $100,000 cash bail or $250,000 surety at the Cumberland County Jail.

“We received a complaint from one of the parents of one of the juvenilles,” said Goulet when asked how they caught Linscott. Goulet said the original call concerned two children, but others, both girls and boys, have come forward since Linscott’s arrest.

The case remains under investigation, but Goulet said several items were seized from Linscott’s home in a search last week.

He said Linscott is believed to have contacted the children over the Internet and in person to let him photograph them.

Neighbor Robert Lamma, 59, of Pequawket Trail, said he was suprised to learn how close Linscott lived.

“It’s good they got him off the streets,” he said.
