Proper tree-planting techniques will be taught at a free class sponsored by Scarborough Public Works on Saturday, Nov. 10, from 10 a.m.-noon, at Scarborough Public Works, 20 Washington Ave.

The instructor is Tim Lindsay, a licensed arborist with Bartlett Tree Experts and a presenter at the 2007 New England Spring Flower Show in Boston. This class includes instruction and demonstration of tree-planting techniques, including proper tools and safety, proper techniques and concepts and proper planting.

Rain date is Nov. 17. Class participation is encouraged, so those who attend are advised to dress appropriately.
