Hundreds of fans from Cape Elizabeth made their way up to the Bangor Auditorium last Friday night to support the Capers in the Class B championship game.

The final score may have read 56-46 in favor of Maranacook at the end of the Class B state title game in Bangor Friday night, but Cape coach Jim Ray knew that his Western regional champions could leave the Bangor Auditorium with their heads held high. As the final seconds ticked away, Ray went down his bench, shaking hands with all of his players and thanking them for a great season. “They’ve worked as hard as any team as I’ve ever had,” Ray said after the game. “You can’t take that away from them.”
