The Cape Elizabeth United Methodist Church will conduct a weekly class through the end of May entitled “Simpler Living, Compassionate Life,” based on the book of the same name by Michael Schut.

The book is a series of essays that focus on voluntary simplicity as a path to wholeness and abundance and compassion.

The class, to be facilitated by church-member Carol Hubbard, will be held on Sunday mornings at 9 and repeated on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. at the church, 280 Ocean House Road. The public is invited to attend. The first sessions will be April 13 and 16.

Participants are encouraged to purchase the book in advance. Copies are available at Nonesuch Books in the Mill Creek Shopping Plaza and also at Amazon.com. Copies of the readings will be available at each class.
