The Scarborough Historical Society will host three men with deep knowledge of Pine Point, when the group holds its monthly meeting Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., at the museum, located at Dunstan Corner next to the fire station,
John Thurlow is an educator by profession. He has always held a high regard for the people and the history of Pine Point, having grown up on the point with his large family. Don Googins has been a clammer and lobsterman and a resident of Pine Point his whole life. He can describe a one-room school or discuss the area before it became a tourist center. William “Billy” Bayley, who is the present owner/manager of the Bayley’s Lobster Pound, also has a keen interest in the history of the Pine Point.
Refreshments will be served and the public is welcome.
