It was a good election day for Windham incumbents as preliminary vote totals show seats on the Town Council and School Committee were won by those already holding office.
In the race for a three-year at-large term on the Town Council, Carol Waig, who is just completing her first term in office, will return for a second term after getting 1,156 votes. Retired Army officer Lane Hiltunen was second with 792 votes, and Ann Rich, a former School Committee member, finished third with 374 votes.
John MacKinnon, who spent the last year as chair of the Town Council as he finished out his first three years in office, was re-elected to the East District seat with 1,078 votes. Former councilor Willard Blanchard received 899 votes, and newcomer Michael Wakefield received 321 votes.
Elected to three-year terms on the School Committee were incumbents Michael Duffy (1,308), Kathryn Brix (1,302 votes), and Toby Pennels (1,096). Marjorie Govoni (840) and Rosalyn Webb (753) failed to win seats.
