SAD 6 employees honored

Eight employees of School Administrative District 6 recently were given plaques to honor their many years of service.

Employees who have worked in the district for 35 years are Nancy Ezhaya, English teacher at Bonny Eagle High School; Robin Hulit, third-grade teacher at Edna Libby School; Brenda Merritt, third-grade teacher at Steep Falls School; Margaret Levasseur, physical education teacher at Bonny Eagle Middle School; Raymond Wynne, eighth-grade teacher at Bonny Eagle Middle School; and Ansel Stevens, principal of Bonny Eagle Middle School. A seventh-grade teacher at Bonny Eagle Middle School, Lawrence Beam was honored for 40 years of service.

Dorothy O’Donnell, a second-grade teacher at the Edna Libby School in Standish, has worked in the district 45 years.

Women’s health screening

The Southern Maine Medical Center Visiting Nurses is hosting free health screenings for women, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 16, at Leavitt’s Mill Health Center 1013 Narragansett Trail, Buxton. Eligible women will receive a clinical exam by a nurse practitioner, as well as a mammogram and Pap test all at no charge.

Eligible women are between the ages of 40 and 64, have no insurance, or a high deductible and meet certain income guidelines. Pre-registration is required. Call 985-1028.
