We who live in Scarborough are incredibly fortunate that Karen D’Andrea is running this year for one of the three positions open on the Scarborough Town Council.

A former Marine, Karen is a woman of integrity, intelligence and exemplary character. A volunteer for a variety of organizations in and around Scarborough and Portland, Karen is highly skilled in comunication. She has worked as a consultant for nonprofit organizations, helping them to become structurally stronger and better able to accomplish their goals, and has repeatedly demonstrated that she is able to work cooperatively on difficult issues to facilitate discussion and resolution. Karen has skills and talents which will make effective contributions to Scarborough, her home for nine of the 20 years she has lived in Maine.

Some issues of concern for Karen include the constructive physical and economic growth of Scarborough, energy innovation and conservation, and transparency and inclusiveness in the governmental process.
