The Casco Fire Association, organizers of Casco Days, showed that neighbors helping neighbors in Casco could make a difference. This year, as in the past, association members have donated $5,000 to the town emergency fuel assistance program.

This year the association is sponsoring a month-long raffle featuring $3,500 worth of Longaberger products donated by Jennifer Murray, a Longaberger sales consultant.

Recently, Murray met with Tom Mulkern of the Casco Fire Association and shared ideas to assist the Casco Helping Casco Program in keeping Casco residents warm.

Murray is managing the start up of a calendar raffle fundraising event for a month where 31 days of Longaberger baskets, pottery and wrought iron products will be won by a number ticket chosen each day of the month. Proceeds from this raffle will be donated to the emergency fuel assistance program.

Along with the raffle, be on the lookout for the Casco Fire Association members selling tickets for a Casco mystery gift calendar. Donations from area businesses, to the funds for fuel fundraising drive are also being sought.
