Lakes Region – Memories – Nov. 21, 2008
In the early 1950s, the West Gray Store on Route 115 sold Calderwood’s bread, Deering Ice Cream and Italian sandwiches among other things. It was like many other corner stores. In 1962, the store was sold and became a restaurant. Down through the years, many changes have taken place and many other restaurants have located at this site. Today, this site is where DiSanto’s Restaurant serves the local diners. (From Images of America: Gray, Maine)
