Four seventh-grade students at Wescott Junior High School admitted writing a threat on the wall of a restroom at the school, police say.
Westbrook Police Lt. Mike Nugent said the school administration is handling the discipline of the students, who may also be facing criminal charges. He said police are not yet revealing details about the threat, which was reported Friday afternoon. According to Nugent, after responding to the report, police, with the help of school staff, “quickly concluded that the incident was a prank rather than a genuine safety threat.”
The school was not evacuated and students were dismissed on schedule.
