The Scarborough High School Debate Team won its fourth consecutive State Student Congress Championship, according to Scarborough school officials.

The competition was held Jan. 31 at Brunswick High School.

In the Senate, Jeremy Carter earned Most Outstanding Speaker and Amanda Ek earned Outstanding Speaker. In the House, Katie Flynn earned Most Outstanding Speaker; David Bibeau, Roscoe Thomas and Seth Albert earned Outstanding Speaker awards.

In another debate category, Becca Carifio earned the Most Outstanding Speaker award as first-place state champion in Lincoln-Douglas debate.

The team is coached by SHS English teacher Gerry Hebert.
