SOUTH PORTLAND — Police believe they have arrested the man responsible for a strong-arm robbery of a taxi cab driver on March 9 at the Gorham Road-Westbrook Street intersection.
Sgt. Steven Webster said in a press release Tuesday that police arrested Chad Conant, 27, of Portland, on charges of Class B robbery. The arrest was made on Hammond Street in Portland with the help of Portland police and the Violent Crimes Task Force, Webster said.
As of Thursday morning, Conant was still being held at Cumberland County Jail on $1,000 cash bail.
